THANK YOU!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Middle School’s Scholastic Book Fair. I would also like to thank the amazing student crew and parent helpers who made the book fair possible! Because of you the school raised over $1300.00 for new books and resources!

Also, a HUGE thank you to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt in Abbotsford for your generous donation of coupons for free frozen yogurt to those who purchased a book at the fair!

Congratulations to all the contest winners! Hope you enjoyed your prizes.

The library copy of books from the fair will be on the “New” shelf soon. Check out the blog’s “New Stuff” for other books that have just been added! Book 12 of the Ranger’s Apprentice is ready, the newest Percy Jackson’s graphic novel, the latest Warriors books, and many more!

THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING SOON!

book fair

MEI Middle School is once again hosting a Scholastic Book Fair! Join us for this special event November 4th – 7th in the Multi-Purpose Room. Come celebrate books and reading with us!

The Book Fair will be open after school on Monday (if they deliver early enough!), 8:00am-4:00pm on Tuesday, 8:00am-8:30pm on Wednesday and 8:00am-2:00pm on Thursday.

New contests have been added and there are many prizes to be won! Come to the Book Fair to Guess How Many”. Check your locker during Lucky Locker Days” (Tuesday and Wednesday) to see if you have won a prize! For every $10 spent you can enter to win a prize! Also, if students bring a family member to the book fair, they can enter the “Family Prize Draw” and win $50.00 in books!! $25 worth of books for their family, and $25 for their classroom teacher. Contest submissions for the family draw must be in by 8:30pm on Wednesday.

Check out the teacher’s Classroom Wish List display. This is a great way to give the perfect gift, support literacy, build the classroom library and show appreciation for your child’s teacher. Every generous gift you make will be recognized with a special bookplate, identifying your family or child as the donor. You can either buy one of the books the teacher has selected or give a cash donation that they can use to buy books from the fair. New contest: for every book you buy for the classroom, you can enter a draw to win a book of the same value for yourself!

P.S. Did you know that for every $10 you spend at the Book Fair, up to $6 goes back to our school? This allows us to purchase library books and educational resources. Thanks for your support!

We hope to see you at the Book Fair!

WELCOME BACK!

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer break!

It has been a very busy start to the school year.  Last week everyone signed out their textbooks – don’t forget to hand in your Textbook Condition Forms! Hand them in by tomorrow for a chance to win a prize! If you forget to hand it in remember that ALL Textbook Condition Forms are due back by the end of September. This week we will be going over what is new in the library – a lot has changed! There will also be an orientation for all grade 6 classes. Your regular library times have been scheduled so remember to bring your books back or renew them. Hopefully we will have a “fine free” year!
